another/other/the other ⑴another +单数名词表示不定数目中的“另一个”，“再一个”，表泛指。 I don’t like this coat. Show me another one ,please. another +基数词+复数名词=基数词+more+复数名词 another ten apples=ten more apples ⑵other +复数名词=others ，表示泛指“其他的，其余的”常用于some....,some....., others ........结构中， ⑶ the other 后面可接单数名词常用于one.......,the other.....结构中，指两者中“一个……。另一个……” 还可接复数名词 the other +复数名词=the others ,特指在某一范围内“除去一部分，其余的全部”， In our class,Jim and Jenny are Americans,the others are all Chinese.
